Green Schools
As part of our Educate Together ethos ‘Green Schools’ is embedded in all aspects of our school life. Ethics and the Environment is also a part of the Learn Together Curriculum. We are currently working towards out ninth flag.
Creative Schools
We are one of only 150 schools selected in Ireland to partake in Creative Schools, an Arts Council funded initiative which aims to put the arts and creativity at the hearts of children's lives.
Some of our other artistic activities include Drama classes with Martha O'Shaughnessy, School Concerts, St. Patrick's Day Parade, drumming workshops, Forest School etc.
Parent's Association
We have had a Parents Association in our school for a number of years. It is affiliated to the National Parents’ Council. The Parents Association organise courses for parents, fundraising events throughout the year and help with any events held in the school.
Local Trips
We are very fortunate to have a rich variety of local amenities which we use to explore a variety of curriculum areas e.g. Ross Beach, Belleek Woods, Jackie Clarke Museum, Ballina Library, Ballina Arts Centre, Ballinglen Arts Centre, Céide Fields, Ballycroy National Park, etc.
Sport
As part of the P.E. curriculum all children par- take in gymnastics and children in 1st to 6th attend swimming lessons every year. Our classes have also taken part in GAA blitzes, coaching and sporting competitions throughout each school year.
